OVERVIEW

Cape Cod Academy, located in the heart of Osterville, MA offers a prime location to develop your field hockey skills on the Cape, a place where field hockey is evolving for the youth. This summer, join us for a fun and focused camp experience where you’ll improve your skills, receive expert coaching, and challenge yourself in a supportive environment. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, this camp will help you develop your on-field skills, through the instruction of a top NCAA Head Coach.

The camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each participant will be assessed and grouped with others of a similar age and skill level. Adjustments to groups may be made throughout the week to ensure campers have the opportunity to train with and compete against different players. Through a mix of drills, games, and scrimmages, each camper will have the chance to learn, improve, and enjoy field hockey in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Ashley Bishop was named the head coach of the Bears’ field hockey program in the summer of 2022. Bishop is a 2007 graduate of Assumption College where she earned a Bachelor of Art degree in English and Communications. Ashley played four years of field hockey for the Division II Greyhounds.

Prior to coaching at Bridgewater State, Bishop served as a field hockey coach at her alma mater, Barnstable High School for ten years including the last eight as the varsity head coach. She was also the JV softball coach for the Red Raiders.

A resident of Centerville, Massachusetts, Bishop is a 2003 graduate of Barnstable High School. She played varsity halfback for the Red Raider field hockey team in 2001 and 2002, earning a pair of varsity letters. She served as a co-captain and was named as an Old Colony League All-Star her senior season. Bishop also played varsity basketball as well as varsity softball for two seasons at Barnstable. She was a Cape Cod Times All-Cape & Islands selection in her junior year in softball.

Prior to taking over as the Bears’ field hockey coach, Bishop was a teaching assistant at Barnstable High School and is a licensed English teacher.

At Revolution Field Hockey Camps you’ll receive personalized field hockey training through an exceptional curriculum, tailored to all age groups and skill levels. Our goal is to help players of all abilities enhance every aspect of their game. Our camps emphasize individual skill development while incorporating drills and scrimmages to foster teamwork and strategy.

Key features of our field hockey staff include: Low camper-to-coach ratios; groups organized by age and skill level and a fun, energetic, and experienced coaching team.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

Half Day Campers: Check in at 8:15am ready to play at 8:30am on each day starting Monday. Campers should be picked up at Noon each day ending Thursday. All Campers are encouraged to bring a snack and liquids each day.

8:15 am: Campers Arrive for Check-In
8:30am: Warm Up / Stretch
8:45am: Individual Skill Training i.e. Dribbling & Ball Control
9:00am: Technical Skill Development i.e. Passing & Receiving, Shooting, Eliminating
10:00am: Snack / Water Break
10:15am: Small-Sided Drills
11:00pm: Team-Based Games & Scrimmages
12:00pm: Coaches Debrief & All Campers Dismissed

What to Bring to Camp

Below is a suggested list of items to bring to camp. We recommend that campers avoid bringing expensive personal items such as cell phones or laptops. Campers are permitted to bring cell phones to camp for contacting their guardians, but phones are not allowed on the field during training sessions. Please make sure to label all items you bring to camp. All personal belongings are the responsibility of the camper. Revolution Field Hockey and its camp staff are not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten items.
