OVERVIEW

University of Denver is located in the heart of Denver, just six short miles from downtown and roughly 16 minutes from the city center. Denver’s state-of-the-art facilities provide the perfect environment for campers to develop their skills. This summer, join us for a fun camp experience that focuses on improving your field hockey skills.

The camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each participant will be assessed and grouped with others of a similar age and skill level. Adjustments to groups may be made throughout the week to ensure campers have the opportunity to train with and compete against different players. Through a mix of drills, games, and scrimmages, each camper will have the chance to learn, improve, and enjoy field hockey in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Camp Director

Grace Goodbarn
Grace GoodbarnCentre College Head Coach

Grace Goodbarn was named the Head Coach of the Centre field hockey program in January of 2022.

In 2023 she guided the Colonels to an 11-9 overall record and a 7-1 SAA record as they were named the regular season conference champions. Goodbarn was named the SAA Coach of the Year and seven Colonels were named to All-Conference teams. Meghan Speth and Claire Martin were named to the region 6 all- region second team.

In her first year with the Colonels, Goodbarn led the team to a 10-7 overall record and 4-1 in the SAA. In year one, she guided Centre to a 2022 SAA tournament championship title. Senior Erin Bozdech was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and 4 Colonels were named to the all-conference teams. Bozdech and Ellie Dunham were also named to the Region 6 All-Region team.

Goodbarn joined the Colonels from Williams College, where she served as assistant coach for an Ephs team that was ranked in the top 12 of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Poll throughout the 2021 season. She helped mentor 2 NFHCA All-American, All-region, and NESCAC First-team players in the 2021 season.

Prior to her time at Williams, Goodbarn spent three seasons at Washington & Lee as an assistant coach. She mentored 16 all-conference selections with the Generals, and helped the team set program records for goals-against average and shutouts during the 2019 season when she filled in the interim head coach position.

Goodbarn began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Transylvania University during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

As a student-athlete, Goodbarn was a four-year starter and two-time NFHCA All-American at DePauw University. She helped the Tigers claim three North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament championships and reach the NCAA semifinals in 2012. Along with her All-American accolades, Goodbarn was a four-time All-NCAC First Team, four-time All-Region selection and 2015 NCAC Co-Player of the Year. In 2023 she was named to the NCAC 40th Anniversary All-Decade team.
