OVERVIEW
University of Denver is located in the heart of Denver, just six short miles from downtown and roughly 16 minutes from the city center. Denver’s state-of-the-art facilities provide the perfect environment for campers to develop their skills. This summer, join us for a fun camp experience that focuses on improving your field hockey skills.
The camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each participant will be assessed and grouped with others of a similar age and skill level. Adjustments to groups may be made throughout the week to ensure campers have the opportunity to train with and compete against different players. Through a mix of drills, games, and scrimmages, each camper will have the chance to learn, improve, and enjoy field hockey in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Camp Director
Katie is the co‑founder and current owner and club director of Rocky Mountain Field Hockey Club, which she launched in 2023 with college teammate, Emily Hazard to expand competitive field hockey opportunities for athletes across Colorado. Since then, the club has grown and become a year‑round home for players looking to develop their skills and stay connected to the sport.
Before starting Rocky Mountain FHC, Katie spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Rhodes College, where the Lynx won the 2018 SAA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. After Rhodes, she moved to Boston and continued coaching with Wizards Field Hockey, worked with USA Field Hockey’s Futures program, and stayed active as a player with the Minutemen club team.
A Vienna, Virginia native, Katie began playing in eighth grade with Capitol Pegasus and went on to be a four‑year varsity athlete at Marshall High School. She earned All‑District and All‑Region honors as a junior and senior and was named the Sun Gazette Field Hockey Player of the Year her senior season.
Katie continued her career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, competing at the Division I level. During her four years with the Minutewomen, UMass won three Atlantic 10 Championships and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Now living in Littleton, Katie stays as involved in the sport as possible coaching, playing, and helping build pathways for the next generation of athletes. In addition to her work with Rocky Mountain FHC, she will join the coaching staff at Kent Denver School.
