OVERVIEW

Massachusetts Maritime Academy is located in the heart of Buzzards Bay, MA. MMA’s state-of-the-art facilities provide the perfect environment for campers to develop their skills. This summer, join us for a fun camp experience that focuses on improving your field hockey skills.

The camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each participant will be assessed and grouped with others of a similar age and skill level. Adjustments to groups may be made throughout the week to ensure campers have the opportunity to train with and compete against different players. Through a mix of drills, games, and scrimmages, each camper will have the chance to learn, improve, and enjoy field hockey in a supportive and dynamic environment.

This camp must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the Local Board of Health.

PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice

Callie Lekas was named Head Field Hockey Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice in July 2019. In each of her first five seasons as head coach of the Blue, Coach Lekas has guided the team to the NEWMAC Field Hockey Championship, including trips to the NEWMAC semifinals in 2021 and 2024.

Coach Lekas spent three seasons as Head Coach at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. While at Clark, she also served as the Director of Intramurals, SAAC Liaison, and as a member of the Career Development and Operations Committees. She is also active in the local field hockey community, having coached with the Styx Field Hockey Club, Strikers Stars Field Hockey Club, and with USA Futures Field Hockey.

Prior to her time at Clark, Coach Lekas was an assistant coach at Wellesley for four seasons, helping to guide the Blue to three consecutive NCAA Elite Eight appearances, as well as NEWMAC regular season and tournament championships. In addition to her work with the Blue, Coach Lekas was instrumental in establishing the partnership between Wellesley and the Wellesley Scoops Field Hockey Club, helping to teach the game to hundreds of girls in Wellesley and surrounding communities.

Coach Lekas is a three-time NEWMAC and NFHCA First Team All-Region selection, scoring 57 goals with 22 assists in her collegiate playing career. She took trips to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2006, and the NEWMAC title game in 2007 and 2008. Coach Lekas graduated from Wellesley with a degree in psychology before earning her master’s in Sports Management from UMass Amherst. While at UMass, Lekas spent one year as an assistant at Amherst College, helping to lead the team to a 15-4 record and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2011.

At Revolution Field Hockey Camps you’ll receive personalized field hockey training through an exceptional curriculum, tailored to all age groups and skill levels. Our goal is to help players of all abilities enhance every aspect of their game. Our camps emphasize individual skill development while incorporating drills and scrimmages to foster teamwork and strategy.

Key features of our field hockey staff include: Low camper-to-coach ratios; groups organized by age and skill level and a fun, energetic, and experienced coaching team.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

Overnight Campers: Check in at 12PM-1PM Monday. Campers should be picked up at Noon Thursday.

Extended Day Campers: Check in at 12PM-1PM Monday (8:45AM every other day). Campers should be picked up at 8:30PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and at Noon Thursday. (Lunch and dinner are included)

What to Bring to Camp

Below is a suggested list of items to bring to camp. We recommend that campers avoid bringing expensive personal items such as cell phones or laptops. Campers are permitted to bring cell phones to camp for contacting their guardians, but phones are not allowed on the field during training sessions. Please make sure to label all items you bring to camp. All personal belongings are the responsibility of the camper. Revolution Field Hockey and its camp staff are not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten items.
