Choosing a Field Hockey Camp
When it comes to finding the right field hockey camp to attend this summer, it’s all about what fits you the best. Since no two field hockey players – or people, for that matter – are alike, many will probably have different things they’re looking for in a camp.
During the registration process, the first thing you need to ask yourself is what kind of camp format you prefer the most. There are eight different kinds of camps we offer, but they boil down to four particular formats: overnight, extended day, day and half-day.
Just by looking at the names, we know why overnight field hockey camps are different from day camps, but is there a reason why you’re not considering one or the other?
Below are the three biggest differences between overnight and day field hockey camps that you should know about.
Time commitment
Overnight Field Hockey Camps: This is your opportunity to spend four days and three nights away from home and get the “full experience” for a Revolution camp. This option normally takes place on a college campus, allowing you to take advantage of the dorm halls, all-you-can-eat buffets and entertaining evening activities once the on-field training is done for the day.
Day Field Hockey Camps: This type of camp can be offered at any kind of complex and only includes on-field training. The actual day is much shorter (typically 9am to 4 or 5pm).

What to pack
Whether you join us for about eight hours a day or are spend four straight days with us, what you pack in your bags is very important – and different! If you come to one of our day camps, no bedding, toiletries or anything else you would need to stay in your normal nightly routine is needed.
But for overnight camps, you’ll probably have to pack an extra bag with all these things included.
Camp availability
This is one you’ll definitely want to pay attention to. Due to facility availability, we can’t offer camps at a location in all different kinds of formats. We try to offer as much as we can, but there are some places that only offer overnight and extended day options, while others have day and half-day options, and a few only have day camp availability.
What’s offered at each location throughout the country is clearly indicated under each option and in the “more info” tab, so be sure to look for it as you go about attempting to find the right one for you.
Which type of field hockey camp do you prefer? If you have any questions about the various options, don’t hesitate to ask us! We want to ensure that you feel completely comfortable in the decision as to which camp eventually gets chosen. No matter which one you attend, though, you’re in for an unforgettable experience, and we’re excited to host you!
